Location and Community
Beautiful Bridgehampton, New York is an historic village in the Township of Southampton, Suffolk County,
and is located on the South Shore of Eastern Long Island. This former farming community was first settled in 1656,
and is situated approximately 100 miles east of New York City. Bridgehampton is a quiet, residential community,
comprised of single-family homes, farms, and unspoiled beaches, a thriving summer community and arts colony.
Celebrating 100+ years of educating students, Bridgehampton School is a public school that offers the benefits
of a small private school. It provides a Pre-K through Grade 12 New York State, standards-based curriculum.
Our student-to-teacher ratio of approximately seven to one allows us to provide an education specific to the learning
ability and development of each student. Our integrated approach to teaching inspires our students to think critically
and creatively. The 2010-2011 school year marked the school’s centennial year! We continue to shape our
‘next hundred years’ with pride and accomplishment here at Bridgehampton.
The school district has a “classic” main building with smaller buildings that house Administrative Offices, Music,
Pre-School, Science, and Special Education Offices. The Bridgehampton Union Free School District has an active
Parent-Teacher Organization to support and complement the students, District Staff and the Board of Education.
