This month the Bridgehampton Elementary School students gathered for their assembly to learn about the importance of January. The Communications Club with help from Mrs. Hamra Ozsu spoke about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Miss. Merkert and Miss. Hansen’s first grade sang songs and spoke about reasons why they were grateful for the things Dr. King accomplished. Students cheered as they used this time as a chance to honor Dr. King. The Communications Club also spoke about the Chinese New Year and how we can come together to honor our ancestors by bringing together family to celebrate traditions that bring good luck and prosperity. Students turned to their teachers and said a big thank you for all they’ve done this year so far. A tradition of respect and gratitude is always present in Bridgehampton School.
