Bridgehampton’s elementary schoolers participated in an extraordinary assembly in partnership with Stony Brook University’s Food Lab. The Bug Chicks, Kristie Reddick and Jessica Honaker, award-winning entomologists and educators who work with the Food Lab, are not your typical educators. They specialize in turning fear into fascination by using arthropods – spiders, insects and other creatures with exoskeletons – to teach students about biology, behavior, and empathy. Their dynamic, hands-on approach ensures that students not only learn but also develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world and themselves.
