Bridgehampton School’s Future Farmers of America club members helped to design a Memorial Garden for transportation workers who lived in Nassau and Suffolk counties and who lost their lives to COVID-19. Along with club adviser Judiann Carmack-Fayyaz, the club donated five Dogwood trees and lowbush blueberries to serve as a ground cover at the H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge. Additionally, student and club president Yaritza Huacon designed and fabricated plant labels for the trees. The event was organized by Assemblywoman Bridget Fleming and was attended by Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and Nassau County Executive Laura Curran along with many labor organizations and families of those who succumbed to COVID-19.
