Our fourth grade students began their math journey by delving into the concept of place value with large numbers. To ignite interest and strengthen their grasp of these concepts, they engaged in project-based STEM learning activities. For this exercise, they researched the five deepest caves in the world. Working collaboratively, they explored and analyzed the depths of the caves and compared varying measurements in an expanded form.
These hands-on activities not only allow our students to apply their knowledge of place value in a meaningful way, but also foster teamwork and critical thinking. Great work, fourth grade, and happy learning!
