The Bridgehampton School sixth graders linked with Wheeling Jesuit University’s Center for Educational Technologies in Wheeling, West Virginia, to participate in e-Mission: Operation Montserrat. The students, under the direction of teacher Kameron Kaiser, became members of the volcano, hurricane, evacuation or communication team during the two-hour, electronic mission. Operation Montserrat engages each participant to work as scientists to solve problems in real-life situations. The mission challenges participants to apply their mathematics and science knowledge to a real-life event.
