At the May 15 Suffolk County Baseball Coaches Association meeting, Bridgehampton High School junior catcher Milo Tompkins was voted the Suffolk League 10 MVP by the coaches in the league. He has become the first league MVP from Bridgehampton/Ross in the program’s history and will be a finalist for the Yastrzemski Award, which honors the top player in Suffolk County. Much more than his ability to hit or manage our pitching staff, every coach spoke about Milo’s character and his ability to lead this Killer Bee squad. Milo batted .583 with 35 hits, 10 extra-base hits, three homers, an OBP of .683, while drawing 20 walks and stealing 16 bases. It’s not an accident that he has taken that next step in his development this season. Throughout the entire off-season, Milo stayed committed to the weight room, off-season practices and private instruction on his own.

“Milo is a great ballplayer but an even better kid and would be a great representative of our league as the most valuable player,” coach Lou Liberatore said. Congratulations to Milo on an incredible accomplishment!

Three of Bridgehampton’s starting pitchers were also recognized by the other coaches in our league as All-League Selections.

Congratulations to the following players:

Senior Scott Vinski: All-League Selection – pitched to a 1.050 era striking out 44 batters in 40 innings pitched while having a batting average against of .203.

Senior Kris Vinski: All-League Selection – pitched to a 3.56 era striking out 48 batters in 41 innings pitched while having a batting average against of .283.

Freshman Kai Alversa: Academic All-League Selection – pitched to a 3.15 era striking out 28 batters in 27 innings pitched while having a batting average against of .195.
