Fourth grade students celebrated Women’s History Month by researching extraordinary individuals who made contributions to American history and contemporary society. Some of the facts they gathered included Sonia Sotomayor’s service as the first Latina nominated as a Supreme Court Justice, Jaen Goodall’s groundbreaking work as an anthropologist and primatologist, American aviation pioneer and author Amelia Earhart and her solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean and Helen Keller, the noted American author, disability rights advocate, political activist and lecturer.
