Dear Resident:
Please consider joining us on Wednesday, March 10th, at 7 p.m. for a community conversation about the 2021-2022 school budget. This will be in-person in the gymnasium (Capacity of 50 people) and also accessible via Google Meet. Masks are required in-person and social distancing protocols will be in place.
Creating a school budget is a process that school personnel, Boards of Education and budget advisory committees work on for months each school year. In the tenth year of an imposed limitation on the tax levy, school districts throughout the state are continuing to meet budgetary needs with less. Be a part of the solution and join the Bridgehampton community stakeholders for our annual conversation about the school budget.
Superintendent of Schools Mr. Robert Hauser will present the State of the District and the status of the construction project, including the new fitness center, and highlight some of the school’s notable programs. School Business Administrator Mrs. Jennifer Coggin will follow with a presentation of the 2021-22 Budget Overview, which will provide a thorough understanding of this year’s tax levy limitations.
Our district will share what it means to remain within the levy limitations, various cost-saving measures, the Board of Education along with the administrative team have accomplished, the anticipated spending for the 2021-22 school year, and how some budget items are often ones we cannot control. The Board of Education will use the data generated at this forum to make informed decisions with regard to the final approval of the 2021-22 budget.
